In its seventh year, The Willson Oakville Film Festival showcases and promotes excellent films in ALL GENRES, by Canadian and International filmmakers. We are looking for filmmakers who can tell great stories and inspire social change! We do themed shorts screenings, and also do a family film event every year. We also do a special launch GALA event, which focuses on social issues faced by women around the world and in our community, for which we are searching for a special film.
Our thought-provoking films about the human condition, speak to the diverse social issues that impact our community, from women’s issues and ageism, to addiction and mental illness, to issues affecting our youth such as bullying, or human trafficking. We are searching for films by Indigenous filmmakers, and female directors.
Festival Dates: June 18 – 21, 2020
Location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada
The festival proudly accepts entries via FilmFreeway as its submission platform. Please provide a screener link to a Vimeo, YouTube, or other online screening platform.
If your film is selected, you must provide a Digital Cinema Package (DCP) of your film for the festival screening. If you do not have DCP, Oakville Festivals of Film & Art has arranged a discounted rate with film.ca for DCP creation.
Short Films (under 20 minutes) that are chosen for the festival can be delivered on BLURAY or via an acceptable format digital LINK and we will convert them to DCP for the festival free of charge. They can also be delivered on DCP if you have a DCP.
If your film is in a foreign language, we require either English subtitles or an English dubbed soundtrack.
