OFFA, Sheridan College, and Film.Ca Cinemas are back with our much-anticipated Fall screening series. We have four screenings this Fall, all highlighting the work of Canadian women Directors! A diverse range of genres highlight the best of Canadian film from across Canada, some genres include comedy, drama, and documentary. Films include Genie Award-winning Canadian and Anishinaabe filmmaker Lisa Jackson’s new hybrid feature-documentary, Wilfred Buck, which is winning awards on the festival circuit across Canada. We also have the newest comedy/Drama from Director/co-writer Sook-Yin Lee (with cowriter Joanne Sarazen), Paying For It, which is drawing rave reviews in a special sneak peak screening exclusive to OFFA. As well, from the Prairie Diaspora, we have Writer/Director Gillian McKercher’s gripping drama Lucky Star, new to the festival circuit, which chronicles the personal struggles of a man and his family as they confront his gambling addiction.
