Work Shop – Thursday 14 May (7pm) –Taking Your Script to the Next Level

Oakville filmmaker Dale Andrews (The Bokeh Collective) focused on making basic story ideas into an interesting, film-worthy story, as well as the role of the EP in film.   Dale is Executive Producer for the multi-award winning feature Making Monsters, short films Latched, Analog Rainbow, The Long Way and producer for the Fox Studios short film Carved.

Roundtable Networking Workshop – Thursday 21 May (7pm)

Filmmakers networking Roundtable and Q&A Peer learning session to discuss projects, ask questions.  Open to all filmmakers who register for the event.

Moderator is the founder of Motion Picture Enterprises an award-winning filmmaker, Cathleen MacDonald. Confirmed participants include multi-award-winning Indie filmmaker Sean Cisterna (From the Vine, Kiss and Cry), successful writer/filmmaker Lee Chambers (The Pineville Heist, Copenhagan Road), and Kris Elsley (Bokeh Collective, producer Restaurants from the Edge).

WorkshopMaximizing Your Indie Budget – Thursday 28 May (7pm)

LA filmmaker/actor and accomplished voice-over actor Alexander Kaminer (currently featured in the hit Netflix film, the Platform), will talk about how to keep your production values high on a limited budget. Alex brought his successful Indie film “Lift” to the 2019 festival, which he wrote and produced on a shoestring budget.

Master Class – 11 June (7pm)The Producer with Jessica Adams of JA Productions (Toronto)

A case study of successful Canadian/British Indie Producer Jessica Adam’s recent work on both Tammy’s Always Dying and Astronaut. Jessica will tackle  the ins and outs of developing and packaging a project ( optioning, casting stars, finding the creative team) to raising the financing, Production and Post Production, selling and distributing.  Films include: Amy Jo Johnson’s THE SPACE BETWEEN, Hulu’s ASTRONAUT starring Oscar Winner Richard Dreyfuss, and TAMMY’S ALWAYS DYING, which stars Oscar Nominated Felicity Huffman. Adams is currently in production on THE VEGAS Canadian / Argentinian political-dance drama by Alison Murray and is developing Joanne Sarazen’s THE DOLL PLAY as well as Sundance winning director, Luis De Filippis feature SOMETHING YOU SAID LAST NIGHT in partnership with Elevation Pictures, UTA, Snowglobe and Freestyle Pictures.

Workshop  Thursday 18 June (7pm)Hollywood or Independent? You Can Have!  Both Presenter AJ Briones, Independent Filmmaker/Special Effects Supervisor (Los Angeles, CA)

AJ Briones has had a fabulous Hollywood career. He is a Visual Effects Supervisor By day and independent filmmaker by night. His work on Star Wars: Episode VII, Battleship and the upcoming Avatar movies have solidified his place on screens around the world. His passion lies in the independent world where his first short horror film The Smiling Man made him a well-known director in the horror genre. AJ will share his experiences in both worlds and what it is like to work side by side with one of Canada’s most famous directors James Cameron.

Master Class – 25 June (1pm EDT) –  Featuring  British Director/Screenwriter Carl James Hunter – Director/Producer Sometimes, Always Never)

He will talk about taking an Indie film to market, and pitching that film from start to finish, focusing on his experience with “Sometimes, Always, Never” and his process for an upcoming script that is ready to go to market.
